What does the Infusion Clinic do?
We are a clinic located in Houston, Texas with physician membership in the American College for Advancement in Medicine, International College of Integrative Medicine, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, American Society of Bariatric Physicians, and the European Academy of Quality of Life and Longevity Medicine. We are a clinic that addresses and removes environmental toxins while providing the right (Orthomolecular) nutritional supplements via the Intravenous Route. We also offer Dr. Hugh Riordan’s RECNAC (Cancer spelled backwards) Protocol. The RECNAC Protocol utilized high dose IV Vitamin C to help destroy abnormal cancer cells while protecting and strengthening our bodies normal cells. Utilizing the latest Laboratory Analysis and Diagnostic Testing, we are able to treat you before or after symptoms occur.
How are the environmental toxins removed?
Chronic Environmental Toxicity occurs slowly over time. Toxic Heavy Metals such as: Mercury, Lead, Aluminum, Arsenic, and Gadnoliniun may interfere with our body’s normal function and metabolism. When the toxicity is great enough, we show the signs and symptoms of heavy metal toxicity. The diagnosis is made by addressing the subjective signs/symptoms of Environmental Toxicity and the objective testing of urine for Heavy Metal levels. Once the diagnosis of Chronic Heavy Metal Toxicity is made, we prefer to remove the toxins with the therapy of IV Chelation. IV Chelation is the “Gold Standard” form of Chelation Therapy. Our clinical experience has shown that the other forms of Chelation Therapy (ie: Oral Supplements or Suppositories) are only 5% as effective as IV Chelation. In short, IV Chelation is 20 times more potent and effective as any other mode of therapy.
How does Vitamin C affect Cancer Cells?
IV Vitamin C at doses lower than 25gm provides excellent Anti-Oxidant properties. At doses greater than 25gm, IV Vitamin C has been shown to have potent Oxidative Properties. While the mechanism of action remains unknown, IV Vitamin C has been shown to increase intracellular Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) in both normal cells as well as cancer cells. Once dissociated, H2O2 the cell killer known as the Oxygen Free Radical. Our normal cells posses an enzyme that processes and neutralizes H2O2, but abnormal Cancer Cells only have ¼ the amount of this protective enzyme and an accumulation of the Oxygen Free Radical occurs. Ultimately, the abnormal Cancer Cells are killed off by the Oxygen Free Radical while the normal cells are able to clear out the Oxygen Free Radical and remain unaffected by it.
What about your other Orthomolecular Infusions?
In addition to IV Chelation and High Dose Vitamin C, we also offer a number of other useful Orthomolecular Infusions. Our IV Lipid Exchange has been successfully used to break down Cholesterol Emboli (unclog Atherosclerotic arteries) and provide the liver with a much needed detoxifying agent known as Glutathione. A popular supplement known as N.A.C. (n-acetyl-cysteine) is taken orally and is metabolized to small amounts Gluthathione. The IV Lipid Exchange takes this concept 10 steps further by providing the body with clinically significant doses of Gluthathione directly to the bloodstream. Another popular infusion is known as the Meyer’s Cocktail or Gaby Protocol. This infusion is a high potency blend of Vitamin C, Vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9 and B12, Magnesium Chloride, Calcium Gluconate, and 5 Trace Elements that has shown an uncanny ability to help control the symptoms associated with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Chronic Inflammatory Conditions such as Arthritis and Asthma and of course, Vitamin Deficiency Syndrome.
Is Infusion Therapy safe?
Yes. There are numerous studies that have come out over the years that have attested to the safety of Orthomolecular Medicine and Infusion Therapy. IV Chelation, High Dose Vitamin C and Orthomolecular Infusions are all monitored protocols. Our patient’s safety comes first and adverse events are virtually unknown to our practice.
Are there any side effects?
Our infusion protocols call for between ½ to 1 liter of fluid (Ringers Lactate or Normal Saline) to be infused. The most common side effect is a temporary increase of Urine Output. Another common side effect, esp with infusions with Vitamin C, is a net increase of energy and sense of well being. This is side effect is welcomed by most of our patients.
When should I consider Infusion Therapy?
It is our philosophy that every adult should be aware of their Chronic Heavy Metal Levels. This is a simple test that yields much information. Our other infusions are prescribed based upon pre-existing signs/symptoms. If you feel you may be a candidate for IV Infusion Therapy, please schedule an appointment at your convenience.
